Community Foundations Network

  • Community foundations operate in over 25 countries
  • 57 community foundations covering 95% of people in UK.
  • 45 community foundations quality accredited by CFN to standards endorsed by the Charity Commission.  (including Gloucestershire)
  • Central UK body co-ordinates and shares ideas, liaises with government
  • Community Foundations held about £163 Million in endowment at March 2008.  In addition, they manage other funds worth £12.7 Million; are pledged a further £10.8 Million and can expect at least £36 Million in legacies making a total of over £222 Million.
  • In 2007/8 Network grants totalled about £66 Million.
  • Grants benefit at least 20,500 voluntary and community groups in the UK.
