The announcement that £5000 grant had been obtained undoubtedly helped to give the fund-raising a strong impetus, which gathered pace in a most pleasing way. This created a strong sense of 'working together' in the local community. Once the work on the roof had started, the fund-raising was helped even further as people could see for themselves that the grant from Grassroots had acted as a catalyst. The displaying of the plaque has also created interest and appreciation by hall users.
The
speed at which the application was considered, and cheque arrived, was excellent, giving a big boost to our confidence.
The officer of the Grassroots Grants has been very helpful in answering our queries and in providing advice whenever required. We are really happy with the grants programme. |
